Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. has announced that its main operating
company, Tecnimont S.p.A., and its fully owned subsidiary,
Tecnimont ICB Pvt. Ltd of India, have been awarded two EPC
contracts on lump sum turnkey basis for setting up polyolefin
plants for PE and PP at Dahej in Gujarat.
The client is ONGC Petro additions Ltd, a joint venture
company promoted by ONGC, Gujarat State Petroleum
Corporation and GAIL (India) Ltd.
OPaL is setting up a grassroots mega petrochemical project in
the PCPIR/SEZ zone at Dahej. The complex will have a 1.1-
million tonne dual feed cracker and will mainly produce HDPE
(swing and dedicated lines), LLDPE, PP, benzene, butadiene,
CBFS and pygas. Production is expected by December 2012.
The two contracts have a total value of about $440 million
equivalent and cover the implementation of a polypropylene
plant of 340 Kty capacity and two HD/LLD swing polyethylene
plants of 360 Kty capacity each.
The award followed international competitive bidding process
where many major EPC contractors participated.
The Ineos' Innovene PP process will be used for the
polypropylene plant and the Ineos Innovene G process will be
used for the two LL/HD swing PE plants.
In the last five decades, the Tecnimont Group has completed
more than 20 fertiliser plants and 40 process units in India.
Tecnimont ICB Pvt. Ltd has the capability and experience to
supply plants on lump sum turnkey basis in addition to providing
EPC services to group companies for projects worldwide. |
